Lake St-Pierre

Destination: Lake St-Pierre (near Trois-Rivières)
Maximum capacity: 20 people
Departure: May 7, 2005 9:30 am
Costs: $70 - REGISTER ONLINE

Lake St-Pierre is the last remaining freshwater basin in the St-Lawrence. The lake is both a lake and a river at the same time. Containing a multitude of islands and canals, the shallow waters as well as the green flood plains have allowed the Lake Saint-Pierre to harbour an abundance of fauna habitats. To illustrate the rich and diverse habitats one need only mention the 70 species of freshwater fish found in the Lake, the 288 species of birds that have been sighted, or the 167 that are nesting in or around the Lake. This richness and diversity is closely linked to the presence of wetlands, which are spaces of meeting and transition between land and water. The Centre St-Laurent invites you to take a plunge into the heart of this ecosystem and allow you to discover and learn about their installations and research.
